in the good old days, those with security clearances and oaths of silence respected that, not so much anymore, hell that Lewinsky slut couldn't even keep her mouth shut!

Not if you don't advertise it. Why do we (the Fed or the military) have to tell the media everything they do? Just kill the bad guys and move on.....quietly.
Exactly.
1) As Trump says, what military sense does it make to announce when and where we’re about to strike?
2) You want to put the fear of God unto those animals? Make them believe they have no safe haven anywhere they may roam. What kind of message would it send to them that at any moment they can be unceremoniously wiped off the face of the earth?
Personally, I think we should’ve done what the other GOAT republic (Rome) did when people thought it well to frick with them, and destroyed any semblance of civilization in their homeland and sewn salt into the earth wherever they are. Carthage ring a bell?

agree, and with WTodd as well, wish he would have dropped the nickel when we had the chance

To be fair we had found him before 9/11...NINE TIMES we had him in our crosshairs and Bill Clinton said no don’t kill him.
Not sure killing Osama does much to stop the eventual attack. Taliban/al-Qaeda was/is a hydra.

I never bought into this crap. It's lame.
It is rather "interesting" how many make the claim that GWB was the dumbest President of all time- then turn around and make the claim that he carried out such covert operations as 9-11 and blowing up levees in New Orleans after Katrina.

It didn't take very long after going into Afghanistan to virtually eliminate the Taliban and the opium crops. Then we backed off.......go find out why?
And why the frick did we ever go to Iraq? I know and you probably do too.

Maybe, maybe not. But killing him with some of his higher echelon animals before 9/11 throws a huge wrench in their plans.

No doubt. Hindsight being 20/20.
There were lots of warnings that were ignored. The idea of the attack was hard go believe, even with 1993.

41 and I just retired from the military a year and a half before....why?

I love when all the idiots on this site reveal who they are by saying 9/11 was terrorism.

Then you should have known the sentiment of country at that time. The thirst for 'blood' and the need to overcompensate to make sure this never happened again.
Conspiracy theories always neglect what the mood was at that time. And decisions were being made half arse with a intelligence community that were playing catch up.

I didn't check out the link or anything. Did he predict it in detail? Or was it some shite like "A major city in the US will be attacked by muslim terrorist group and it is likely to happen within a certain time"?
If it is the latter, then his prediction wasn't that big of a stretch. OBL had already attempted to attack the WTC center in 1993.. Then in what? 99-2000 al-Qaeda attacked the USS Cole.
There were many in the intelligence community who knew an attack was being planned, but they just couldn't find out the when and where in time.

But no matter how liberal you take the intel at the time, Iraq/Saddam was never a player in 9/11....no reasonable person can spin it enough.
IF we were serious (and by "we" I mean those pulling the strings and giving the orders), we could have wrapped up the war in about 18 months tops and in the process killed damn near every terrorist on the planet and saved trillions in $$$$$ but there's no money in world peace and the Saudis fricking own the Bushs.

With what we know now, Im onboard. Even then the connection to 9/11 was loose if anyone did bring it up.
The WMD line, axis of evil, terrorist nation was why we went after them. Did they miss that? Appears so. Was there some huge outcry that Iraq wasn't a roguish nation?
The 'War for Oil' is a ridiculous narrative.
