Beyond the loss of vehicle, is there any penalty for abandoning a vehicle in LA?

Any fines or liability for towing, storage, or deposal?

Yes you cant just leave it on a dead end street.

Sell it to salvage yard for couple hundred.

or donate it for nice tax write-off and they'll come get it for free.

Call one of the charity groups and donate it. Tax write off.

If I were caught throwing a candy wrapper out my window I would get pulled over and ticketed. Would be crazy if I left my entire car on the side of the road and nothing happened.

All that said, I don't know jack shite.

there are a lot of people who will come get it and give you a hundred or two for taking it (more if it's a heavy car, but they are only getting 3-400 so they aren't going to take the car to the scrapper for free)

Assuming you're in Alabama, an abandoned vehicle is considered yard art.
