I generally just throw away things that get dirty and buy new ones. Especially dishes.

Remove laces.
Spray tons of Shout on them.
Scrub in with toothbrush.
Wash on hottest water possible, use heavy soil setting and extra rinse.
Put in front of box fan to dry or under ceiling fan over night.
