While I disagree on the Valhalla comment in terms of cookie cutter, I have to agree on just about everything else. Until developers stop making under the table deals with established local architects and builders and allowing the same shite “transitional/modern” style then we won’t see any changes for a while. Also most younger builders now are extreme value engineering these homes. There are VERY few builders I would recommend if you wanted an OG high quality home in BR. Pointe Marie is probably the only dev right now that I would recommend. They are currently in the process of developing phase 2 which will have quite a few larger lots (or you could just buy multiple lots).

Are there any new construction developments planned for the BR area that have decent-sized lots and architectural character?

How is Azalea Lakes? Seemed like a nice neighborhood 20 years ago.

The original homes of AL are still going strong. The smaller phase 2 homes are dated and not very well maintained IMO

The front columns of the Houses in Point Marie are literally rotting down. Drive by and take a look. I drove by recently and was shocked.

There’s a new hood next to Lexington lakes going up that looks nice. Builders are building as many homes as possible on the plot of land they get.

I pass it daily, looks like something you’d see in Dallas suburbs. Houses are stacked
