Worked at a school uniform store during college..a lady comes in with a few pairs of Dickies pants she had bought from another store and said they were too long for her son. She said she needed to get them 'alternated'.

There was a laundry in Old Metairie that briefly displayed a sign advertising "altoratons."
Unlike "Teh Pagoda" on Piedmont Avenue, that laundry corrected their sign in short order.
