If you love foreign languages and waiting in an excruciatingly long line, then Ross has some basic cologne bargains. I got a giant bottle of Hilfiger for nostalgia quite some time ago for 30 bucks. Reminds me of Christmas '97 and the year after. The higher the price compared to the others determines the quality

Pro shopping tip:

Go to Dillards early on January 1st, they have all the boxed cologne gifts sets marked off because people return that crap.

They used to do 50% off even on all clearance items. It is a good time to stock up. But lately Dillards has not had those specials sales since COVID and other economic reasons.

It would be nice for that tradition to return.

In the late 90s I went through bottles of Curve. I’ve been married far too long and haven’t worn cologne since.

Leaning toward polo black or Versace eros

Polo Black (and double black, which I prefer) suffer from longevity. They’re good for about an hour or two max. They just have very poor sillage. But the scent is fine.

Versace- meh. Never particularly impressed.

But of others
1) Chanel bleu. Beautiful, wonderful, always appropriate scent. Smells like Dillard’s cologne counter in the best possible way. Strong, wood and blue fruit. Not sweet. Not heavy. But heavy enough.
2) creed Green Irish Tweed. Good every day scent. Very heavy on vetiver. Almost ‘dressy’ but not
3) creed aventus- a bit more expensive than most. Smoke and pineapple while being entirely both but neither. Classic. Turns heads.
4). Creed Viking- spicy. Woody. Warm.
5) guerlain Bosca vanille. Smells almost like pure vanilla but eventually wears off and has a warm and wood remnant. Good for warm winter scent, probably not great in the summer time in the day.

As a polo black, double black owner, it’s fine. But I’d read for all these before I spray the Ralph Lauren one ( though RL Blue hits quite a bit above its price point. Red isn’t bad. Black leaves a bit to be desired)

Azzaro silver was fire. I like one thing, wife likes another, we both had this as A1.

Carry a stick to beat all the womenz off of him.

On a serious note im prone to getting a headache from cologne but never from this one. Worn it everyday for several years now.

Real men don’t need or wear cologne.

I wish I had figured this out sooner.
