I just ordered some from Zenni. Like $120 maybe? Figure I will lose them or they get scratched.

They just did 4 machines side-by-side and never did the chart at all.

That doesn't sound right. Every year, I get the eye chart, where the opto changes L/R lens powers on the old school machine to see if I'm .25 point one way or the other since the last visit. "Which do you prefer, A or B?" kinda thing.

My understanding is that the prescription lens would be made of the same material as the standard model. In essence, I am asking what high-end lenses are available in prescription, and baws' opinions between the options.

Not necessarily. I mean a good pair will almost always come with a polycarbonate lens, regardless of brand. The eye doc may recommend something else however, based on your prescription and condition.

Again, they will toss the stock lenses in the trash and replace them with new ones that are best for your specific prescription. They may recommend a different material than what the stock lenses are.

I have smith Redding’s with the bronze mirror chromapop. Love them. Going to get another Smith pair this year. You can get them around 200 when they do sales.

Do not get shady rays, they suck
