When we lived in an older house with older ac, etc. we had American Home Shield for three years or so. The few times I called them out it was always a giant pain in the arse. They send out the dregs of technicians; guys who would be be out of business if it wasn’t for the warranty companies. It would always require two or three visits to get the issue resolved. Always seemed like it took a couple of weeks, too. In the end I would only pay $75 for several hundred to a thousand dollars worth of work. So it depends on how much bullshite you are willing to put up with to save money.

Unless you anticipate having a dodgy AC system for awhile I wouldn’t bother with them.

AC & Double Oven.
Both have been replaced by me.

AC was all of the sudden, an improper install. Denied.

Oven clock was not working when we bought the house. Three years later: Claim Denied for burned out oven baking element because technically the oven was already broke.

Screw’em.
