Malwarebytes Pro is $25 for a LIFETIME license. I don't know why one wouldn't purchase that.
Couple that with PeerBlock and you're gold. I used to also use MSSE on Win 7, but that's pretty much become Windows Defender on Win 8.

I know, they are less prone to viruses. But could still get them.

I haven't had an antivirus program in six years, and I have never gotten a virus. Virus protection is a scam.

Minus avg, none of those will keep you from getting infected. They for after the fact cleanup of the virus that avg let infect your computer.
An once of prevention, as they say.

AVG has become bloated and the newer versions slows down the computer a decent amount.

Posted on 3/19/14 at 8:44 pm to sportsaddit68

no its not. I check once a month to see if any 'toolbars' or crap like that gets downloaded. My computer runs just as fast as the day I bought it. If you want to ware down a harddrive or slow down a computer then install an antivirus program on it.

Install PeerBlock. PeerBlock will block most of that before it even get's to Malwarebytes, and Peerblock knows how to STFU about it and just log it.

toolbars and "shite" that gets downloaded are not your only concern. it's the shite you won't see by yourself that fricks you up
