Dallas and Hou are so much alike. Both have abysmal large airports with horrible terminal to terminal connections and almost identical, very underrated smaller airports that are a breeze. From touchdown to freeway at Hobby is 20 mins and a short walk. Touchdown to freeway at IAH is never less than 45 mins, often involves a tram or a mile walk and ends with a 15-20 min delay getting out of the terminal garage or an even longer delay getting a bus to non-terminal parking, and then only to sit in airport property construction traffic.
God bless you if you checked a bag or need to take JFK to the tollway instead of Will Clayton to 59. And leaving DFW is even worse.

The old airport was a nasty dump but it was so much easier to get in and out of. The new one is a damn nice mid-sized airport laid out very well. And regardless of what people think of NO in general, you do meet some damn interesting and very hospitable service people.

Flying to/from the Big Island of Hawaii was pretty smooth. Admittedly it lacked a lot of the amenities that are commonplace elsewhere, but as far as the logistics of disembarking / getting into a rental, it was great.
There’s also a small airport down close to San Diego that was always smooth when I was living out there. I lived closer to LAX, but I could go down there and grab a flight way faster than dealing with the pandemonium of LAX.
