How can a town with only a quarter million people have such bad traffic? It makes no sense.

A major interstate that runs from Los Angeles to Jacksonville runs right though the middle of the city with no real bypass.

LSU to Cortana would take two hours in 2000. Up through downtown to Florida to Airline.

the new bridge will be done by 2050 assuming we survive major hurricanes or an asteroid direct hit

Lucky if they even start building it by then.

Even with the new bridge?

The influx of all the traffic that’s building the LNG plant is what’s causing our issues. The bridge was a shite show at first, but I don’t think it’s the MAIN cause of the problems

That’s not true. Unless you were walking. Were you walking? That would make sense if you were walking all that way. Or crawling. That might have even taken longer, the crawling I mean. But not driving. I know because I lived there at that exact time and made that trip many, many times. Not crawling. In a car. Going the speed limit. Were you going the speed limit?

Also, going through downtown was quite a detour. That could have tacked on unnecessary travel time. Did you ever go to Hymel’s in Convent first from campus and then to Cortana? That would have been long, too. No, you could have gotten to college and then to Lobdell to Florida (Blvd, not state) to get to Cortana faster than your sister did.

Best thing I did in my last move was live close to office. I'm work from home but if I have to go in I have a 10 minute drive through quiet backroads. It's sublime

I would estimate that commuting in heavy city traffic every day for an entire career takes a few years off your life, assuming no fatal accidents or fatal road rage encounters.

right - since we sat on airline for an hour - we should’ve just gotten out and walked

I forgot, college drive never has or had bad traffic (sarcasm)

And it’s not like we only traveled around BR once, that’s just an example. The traffic has been shite for over 30 years.

Believe it or not - it wasn’t Katrina. Trust me, at least I’ve stayed in my home and not rented it out or sold to a group home.

Wait, I think I figured out what’s going on here - I think you’re exaggerating the length of time it took you and your mom to get from campus to Cortana mall.

no, it was my brother and I - and it isn’t an exaggeration

But I forget I never knew the wonderful Baton Rouge people of. Because I ruined it. Don’t need to tell me, I’ve been told many times.
