Seems like lots of violence lately, wherever you stand on the political spectrum I think its safe to say that we all need to be careful, no matter where we are in public. Pay attention to your surroundings, make note of exits and layouts of where you are, have a plan for you and your family, be careful where you choose to get inebriated. We've saw in the last few years that shite can go down anywhere at anytime. I see people everyday buried in their phones with no idea of whats going on around them, it may not be a mass shooting that you avoid but paying attention never hurts in the world today.

Nah. I'm not going through life like that. I'm not saying that you shouldn't use common sense but I'm not going to spend dinner out with my family plotting exit routes and analyzing everyone around me like I'm Jason Bourne. Living a life like that negates the point of living a long one to me.

Are you ex military? I seem to remember you saying you were and if you’re not, disregard, but one of the weirdest things for me after my service is I always quickly take a look around and still have ridiculously acute attention to detail. It’s not something that limits my life, but man I can’t help it

The doctors call it PTSD

Yeah. No PTSD issues though. I try to keep aware of my surroundings but not at the level the OP is proposing.

I agree that OP is a little over the top, but a huge portion of the population do this without even really realizing it.

I spend most of my worrying on other drivers on the interstate.

I'm not saying don't exercise basic caution. I just try not to allow it to distract from living in the moment. The chances of dying in a mass shooter event is incredibly low so I spend an incredibly low amount of time planning for or worrying about it. Maybe it will be the death of me but it's not likely enough to influence how I move.

Not gonna lie I saw something today that kinda worried me given the recent events. Pulling into the grocery store I see this cat with a durag on his head. He has a M&M nascar jacket draped over his shoulders. I looked at my car temp gauge and it said 91*. Seemed a little odd to me.

Yeah because you'll turn in to dirty harry and stop a mass shooting because you are carrying a glock 19. Odds are you'll be outgunned and useless.

what I want to know is when did civil discourse become just being a freaking a-hole? I especially love it when talking with someone WHO ASKS ME MY OPINION about a political topic they go the freaking hell off..something I have never done. I have no issues discussing anything, but if you can't handle a debate/discussion then stay at home and talk to yourself.
