What is this drive looking like right now? Siri is telling me part of I-10 is closed in Baton Rouge rerouting via Highland Road, then back onto I-10 clear to New Orleans. What's the traffic situation here? Is Baton Rouge to New Orleans a 4-5 hour clusterfrick? Am I better off just grabbing a hotel when I hit Lafayette before I get anywhere near Baton Rouge? TIA

Friend drove from Baton Rouge to NOLA around 2 today with zero issues. Westbound coming in was screwed but not eastbound. The only place they even saw water near the road was right after Highlamd Road. Guessing that is Bayou Manchac.

It's a completely different question. People suggested multiple different routes- I chose one. While I'm in progress on that route, there have been 3 more road closures since I've started. It's a fluid situation (no pun intended). Since half of the OT lives in Baton Rouge, I'm simply trying to find out the current traffic situation. Dumbass.

From Gonzales I took Hwy 44 south turned west on Hwy 22, took river road for a bit turn into a back road and turned onto Hwy 30 to bluebonnet. I'm trying to do this from memory - and it beat driving on I-10 or airline hwy

I'm seeing that also on maps. But on the brgov traffic map it says it's just traffic and no closure.
