if they're not stinking up the place or doing any damage you might leave them be, your whole block will be mosquito free, unless there's some law protecting the state bird

Bat guano stinks.
There was just a piece on the news about a school in NO with a bat infestation. They hired the low bid brother-in-law roofer who just sealed up the entry points. Bats still in attic. Next thing you know, bats are popping out through the suspended ceilings during school hours.
New solution? I swear to God: they've removed some of the ceiling panels and opened a window. I guess it worked, and now the bats are at the OPs house!

No guano stench and no damage at this point. Unfortunately, they are right by my daughter's bedroom, so she is a little scared.

Ive had 3 instances with them getting in the spot between the brick and backboard.. Mosquito population went to damn near zero. I suggested to the wife that we invest in a few bat house and seal up the house so they cant get back in.. I lost that battle
Unfortunately for me the last nesting was the biggest.. Numbered over a 100 at least. Some couldnt figure out how to get out and got into the attic. Some started using the chimney which is capped but not well enough.. Those started getting into the house when he sealed up the chimney area to well with his netting contraption

Bat shite can cause illness and lung infections. Hence the bat shite crazy saying. Maybe you can smoke them out?

Yes. I had bats a couple summers ago. Tiny crease between attached pergola and back of hpuse. They created a colony. Took about 2 weeks to get them gone. hang nets....seal.every crevice
