Smiling Dog on Sherwood. Low key, you can shoot pool and throw darts. Eat and drink to your hearts content and generally not be bothered

Life expectancy is 76, so middle aged is 38.

Life expectancy is 76 for fat asses!
Middle age is about function, not a number. A 65 year old can be middle aged if he/she can still put out, do intensive exercise, has no limiting injuries.

But a 50 year old fat arse who sits on the couch all day and smokes has probably exited middle age and is elderly.

L'Auberge casino has True Spin playing 90's rock on Friday night.

Try Red Stick Music to find where the live music is playing.

This weekend, I'd hit up the Texas Club on either Friday or Saturday night.
Chris LeBlanc will be at the new Superior Grill on Highland on Sunday.

If in the Denham Springs area:

My recommendation for this weekend:
Fat Cat's in Prairieville has some of the best live music around. It can get smoky inside if you have anyone who hates smoking in the bar.
88 Reasons Why is a jam band with a blind piano player.
Drunk Uncles is an awesome band of 40-50 year olds.

Are the swinger rumors true?

That last time I stopped by there, I was offered red beans and rice from a crock pot. It was weird.

Jefferson is a badass, neighborhood dive bar - Chris, Linda, Tasha, and Kim are great bartenders.

If you want the grittiest dive bars, try the Patio on Jefferson, French Connection, Backstreet Lounge, or Mr. G's at Sharp and Florida.
