Could be wrong, but I think the smoke is from water injection used to boost power during takeoffs

The B-1 is one bad motherfricker.....when it is not broken and sitting on the flight line.

Seriously I keep hearing all kinds of crap about the 18s from Navy people. Most miss the Tomcats. Hope the the 35 turns out better.

Not only does the Lancer deserve props for being a great airframe, it should be lauded for rising from the bureaucratic dead.

The thing I dig most about it is that it's a jet on horse roids.

The B52 is seen as a museum piece, but those things have been around since the early seventies themselves.

The original B-52s go back to 1952 (their namesake). I'm not looking it up but I believe the last models were the H models and they came off the line in 1962.

I got to fly the sim at Ellsworth once. It was cool. Did a nose high stall right off the runway and set it down on the tail end. Ended in a ball of flames.

Yes on take off for certain models, but they still smoke just cruising.

Or at least that's what I understand, I'm not an expert.
