A friend of mine named her daughter Presleigh. That is both stupid and trendy. Please do your kid a favor and name them a traditional name, not something stupid or trendy.

my son or daughter will have an asian or african name.

Bobby/Bob =/= Bobby Bob.
It means he goes by both - family calls him Bobby, professionally he is Bob.
Not trolling about my son's name. The only other person I have ever heard of with his name is a former Auburn football player from Marietta. Hicks Poor - he was a wide receiver in the 90s.
He and my son actually share the same birthday, too.

I just gave my kids normal, conservative names. Bennett and Reagan. Have some self respect people.

Hey no shame in it. Bobby Bob has a certain to it when said aloud.

I have a name that sucked arse growing up, but is pretty awesome now. It is one of those "trendy" names as y'all call them.
I also don't agree with naming your kid after yourself or making them a third. Nothing worse than a 40-something year old man called "Junior" or "Trey"

I've always loved my name and it was a very popular name when I was born. But it wasn't some weird trendy name(thank you mom and dad for being normal).
As a child I also liked being able to find my name on personalized items for souvenirs when we went on vacations.
So there is another test for you. Will your little girl be able to find a souvenir keychain/pencil/etc with her name on it?

I will know the downfall of our society is upon us when I go to a souvenir shop on vacation and see souvenir keychains with "Brynlee" or "Braydyn" on it.

It flows really well with my middle name.

I'll know I'm in the south when I see keychains with "Opal" or "Henrietta" on them.

Ok, that seriously makes no sense.
ETA: You are not being "progressive" by naming your child Brynlee. You are just being white trash.
And calling the Midwest progressive is fricking hilarious.

That's very possible as the name is becoming more popular every year.
Popularity of the female name Brynlee
Year of birth Rank
2012 323
2011 378
2010 509
2009 680
2008 900
Note: Rank 1 is the most popular, rank 2 is the next most popular, and so forth.

Well, we don't constantly wish things could be the way they were 50 years ago-including people's names.

Guarantee you Detroit wishes things could be the way they were 50 years ago; you know, a booming economy and all.

Using traditional classic names is actually more popular nationwide.
Nothing wrong with using a classic, tried and true name that has stood the test of time. A name that actually means something and isn't some made up name by some moronic pregnant woman and her loser baby daddy trying to be "unique".
