Is fricking awesome. Go by a copy immediately. Don't get frustrated with it and stick to the schedule no matter what.

That means that you have to leave shite early to be home for when he goes to sleep.

The other advice is to set early boundaries with your parents and inlaws because those fricker are annoying as hell.

No it cannot. Never microwave breastmilk or formula as it doesn't heat up evenly. It can burn the baby's mouth. Also...microwaving breastmilk will destroy some of the nutrients in breastmilk.

Seriously NEVER microwave breastmilk.

This is ridiculous.

You do realize you can shake the bottle right?

It's the same stuff I educated parents on the past 16 years as a peds nurse. Spent many shifts in the NICU as well.

The stuff I said is no different than recommendations given by any pediatrician fwiw.

Still doesn't get rid of the hotspots.

The fact that I spent the past 16 years of my life dedicated to caring for babies and kids obviously doesn't mean jack shite because I wasn't able to have a child though. Am I correct? Is that what you were implying?

Oh and just so you don't think I'm making this shite up...

CDC recommendations

quote:

Avoid using a microwave oven to thaw or heat bottles of breast milk
Microwave ovens do not heat liquids evenly. Uneven heating could easily scald a baby or damage the milk
Bottles may explode if left in the microwave too long.
Excess heat can destroy the nutrient quality of the expressed milk.

Maybe you can research if the writer of that CDC article is a parent so you will know if it is trustworthy.

Not true.

Another example of internet bad parenting advice.

Nah I don't need to research. My kids are past that stage as well as decades of other kids that were raised on bottles that were heated in the microwave. They all seem to be doing alright.

Did you know that Sweet and Low causes cancer though? You may wanna stay away from that in your coffee and tea.

And decades ago seatbelts were not in cars and kids weren't buckled up. If research shows something that has been done can actually be dangerous to a baby...shouldn't parents be warned about it?

Kids wearing seat belts can be just as dangerous wearing them as not in some cases.

Btw my mom had a 1976 stationwagon that I know for sure had a seat belt. Not sure where you're getting your info from.

Baby Wise is definitely the way to go. Wife asked me to read it when she was pregnant with our lead off. I'm glad I did. Both of our babies were sleeping through the night by 7 weeks and have been awesome

none of this matters because most kids don't give a shite the temperature of the "milk" they just want it. Mine prefers it cold.

I'm done arguing with you in this thread. Let it go back to people giving the dad to be advice.

And it's not like I was telling the guy what to expect...cause yeah you are right...I don't have kids so I don't know what that is like. But as a trained medical professional...I am well qualified to correct someone when they are giving the guy advice (like microwaving breastmilk) that could potentially harm his child.

Personally I have sleep pretty well the first two months. I can't breastfeed the baby so my wife gets up the one or two times a night the baby needs to eat.

OP, this is why you don't want to use the internet for advice. You get people like this popping off about what you should do, because she read an article one time, and is now an expert.

I'm in GA, maybe that's the problem.

But we were told by the internet it was covered, Cigna said nah, not unless you have a medical condition that requires it.
