You need to go see what that account info says. You should get out in front of this before you get asked about it. For all you know you are gay online right now. Nttawwt.

i dont care if im gay on the net. And they would have had to have access to my email via password to even activate the account

Are there personal messages in there? I would not like that shite. I only checked my regular email account. I probably should check my yahoo account.

Is this site everyone using to check anything more than a wonderful way to get people to voluntarily enter all of their email addresses for spamming purposes?

I'm glad my email didn't come up. I've heard it's pretty common for people to steal pics and info off the internet and create fake dating profiles. Happened to me once on Match. An old friend texted me out the blue thinking I moved to Denver. Apparently someone had created a fake profile using some pics of me Catfish style.
Now that I think about it, an email address wouldn't matter for the example above.

Lol these hackers are so lame and retarded. Let's post a bunch of names onto the dark web where only pedophiles and rapists go so we can expose cheaters!! Everyone should automatically assume that our information is credible too!!
No one gives a shite. The population is so ADHD theyre gonna forget about this tomorrow. No one wants to try and get on the dark web where the scum of the earth prey on innocent people. They have to do a way better job delivering the info (making it more accesible to everyone - maybe facebook, google search), and proving credibility in their sources before this makes any kind of stir (if you want to call it that)

Did you just read the first post or the whole thread? It's pretty not that hard to click a link and search for an e-mail address.

It's not hard for you maybe, but are you the average user?
For the average user this is nothing short of a fricking full on science project. Most of our wives can barely use Google efficiently.
My point is, no one wants to go through all of these steps to search through millions of names - they're going to have to dumb this down big time if they expect to make any time of impact. This is really only feeding ground for identify thieves. The hackers are missing the target - they really want to expose the cheaters to their spouses (I think), instead they're handing out personal information to thieves and they're going to get busted for it eventually.

they will, this is only the beginning, someone will refine it to it's simplest form, like a spreadsheet or something, then post the entire thing online and make it easily searchable. you can already just search via email address by typing it in a box to see if it is a part of this hack.
this is a legit site:

News company releases a news article that says, "Click here to search the list".
Click the link.
Type in your e-mail.
Hit the search button.
Website tells you yes or no.
...This is not rocket science.

The link to enter emails and see if they show up is all over Facebook, it has already been dumbed down.
Might want to start thinking about how you explain why your email comes up valid.

Do you realize how hard it is to use facebook? Not all of us have instruction booklets and hardly anyone uses that site.

Disagree...it'll be stopped before it gets to that point. Doesn't change the fact that what they're doing is 100% illegal. It's going to be a lot tougher than you think to establish credibility first and foremost, and get this information out there to the general public.
But hey, if it is somehow successful, I'll get my popcorn out. Should be entertaining

Meh.... You have to be a real dip shite to use your real name and address when signing up as this site does no verification at sign up.
You seem well informed regarding the sign up procedures of Ashley Madison.
