Daycare was next door to his office, so he likely usually took the kid.

The mom is, wisely, staying silent.

Autopsy report determines cause of death for the lil one was hypothermia. So the poor thing did, indeed, die of heat exhaustion/stroke inside that damn car.

https://www.ajc.com/news/news/breaking-news/autopsy-determines-toddlers-manner-of-death-was-ho/ngSXS/

The autopsy conducted on the 22-month-old left inside an SUV for seven hours determined the manner of death was a homicide, Cobb County police said late Wednesday afternoon. The boy’s death was not simple negligence, the police Chief said.

“The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office is waiting for toxicology test results before making an official ruling as to the cause and manner of death,” police said in a written statement. “However, the Cobb County Medical Examiner believes the cause of death is consistent with hyperthermia and the investigative information suggests the manner of death is homicide.”

Timeline...

https://www.ajc.com/news/news/breaking-news/timeline-of-a-cobb-county-toddlers-death/ngSSk/

quote:

June 18, 8:30 a.m.: Ross Harris and his son, Cooper, leave the family’s Marietta-area condo and head to Chick-fil-A for breakfast.

8:55 a.m.: After eating, Harris puts the 22-month-old into his rear-facing car seat in the middle of the backseat of his 2011 Hyundai Tucson. Harris then drives less than a mile to the “Treehouse” Home Depot office, where he works. His son’s daycare center is not located here, but is instead about 2 miles away at corporate headquarters.

9 a.m.: Harris parks the SUV and goes in to work, leaving Cooper in the backseat.

Lunchtime: The exact time has not been specified. But while taking a break from work, Harris walks out to his SUV, opens the driver’s side door and puts something inside. It’s not known what he put in the vehicle and whether he had any contact with the child.

4:16 p.m.: Harris leaves his office, located at 2600 Cumberland Blvd., near Smyrna and Cumberland Mall. While driving from work to U.S. 41, Harris realizes his son is in medical distress, he later told police.

For those of you still working with the "forgetful parent accident" theory, he would have had to forget about his son within 5-minutes of placing him into his child seat and driving less than a mile.

Exactly right.

If his brain was saying "my kid is in daycare because I took him there", wouldn't his brain have responded later in the day "time to go get the kid outta day care!"

LOTS of shite ain't adding up.

Do you remember that crazy Susan Smith bitch in SC? She met a guy who said he didn't want kids, so she concocted a carjacking story and drowned her two children (about 2&4 or 3&5) by leaving them strapped in their carseats and then running the car down a boat ramp. Sick, psycho bitch.

I promise you that there's more to this guy's story. Once the cops get his life under a microscope, they'll uncover his motive. My early guess is a new girlfriend and/or ready for a divorce, but not 16(+) years of child support.

If his wife is not talking to the media at the request of LE, that's one thing. If she has lawyer'd up and isn't speaking, while smart from a legal perspective, it looks like she is hiding something. There's a potential witchhunt in her future...

Interesting. Would like to know if the day care was in the direction of travel when the child's father got off work. That would be very telling.

here's an interactive map showing his office, CFA and where he pulled over:

LINK /

this map shows directions from his office to home:

LINK

he rented a condo off terrell mill rd. his office is at 2600 Cumberland Blvd SE,

Judging by that, he was clearly headed home and not to get his kid.

not reading the whole thread, but does he always take his kid? cause if not the whole driving home instead thing would still be in line.

I don't really believe this story, but this dude is about to be named guilty of intent in the court of public opinion though.

No. He admitted it was his job that day. The corporate daycare is supposedly top notch and he likely got a great rate (if not free) as an employee. It makes sense since they stopped for breakfast right by the office.

The boy could have been enrolled closer to home but it really doesn't jive with the time line.

interesting, I wonder what the wife's involvement is. Seems like a difficult thing to hatch up and then actually follow through with all on your own. Not in terms of like a difficult plan, but convincing yourself it is ok/justified without someone else saying yes.
