I’ve been with att since 2005 and Im almost sure that they intentionally not be able to solve your problems. Mostly if your under a contract of any kind.

I was a happy DirectTV customer for over ten years, but have been very dissatisfied since AT&T has taken over. I recently had service moved to my new home. After a few service issues, a tech visited my home to fix the problem and informed me the pole in my yard was installed incorrectly. Installers are supposed to dig a hole then pour concrete to secure the pole . The original installer used a post driver, and over time, the hole diameter became about 2” larger than the pole. Anytime the wind blew, I’d lose service. The tech told me he could fix the problem, but I’d have to pay him $50, which I declined. Called AT&T and was either disconnected or left on hold until I eventually had to hang up. Finally spoke to an Asian lady named Shannon lol who insisted I pay the $50 before they could reinstall the pole. After arguing that I shouldn’t have to pay to fix their mistake, I told her to cancel my subscription. That helped her figure out a way to reinstall the pole without charging me. Everything was fine until I received a charge alert for reinstalling the pole. Called back and raised Hell until AT&T credited the charge. Their installer told me he had no problem working with DirectTV, but is now looking to change careers after dealing with AT&T. He said customers are constantly taking out there frustration with AT&T on him, but he’s just a contractor, so there’s nothing he can do to help them. Said he rarely had that problem with DirectTV.

Just pay for internet and get a streaming service.

And oddly enough it’s a crappy stock that’s actually down over the last five years

DustyDinkleman May be the only person in the US that has not gone to phone hell with ATT customer service.

We're really considering this with a second kid on the way and looking for some expenses to cut. Have you cut the chord? If so, what do you do for sports? We've got Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime which is pretty much fine for us outside of college football season. My mom just gave us a firestick, but I know absolutely nothing about it

Incompetent idiots. Had 2 guys come out to my house...neither could figure problem. So...a woman (good looking black lesbian) comes out and fixes the issue...told me the other 2 were morons. These weren't the U Verse fiber optic people either; they were just the internet set up people. The 2nd guy came out and said 1st guy fricked it up so badly, that there was no fix and that he would come back with someone from "headquarters". Girls said worker number 2 was a liar and worthless and no longer with AT&T.
Customer service is a dying breed. Why pay 8 bucks an hour to Americans when Indians will do it for half? Outsourcing wins.

Maybe it is time to be a hipster doofus and just get rid of cable.

You call the Public Service Commission.
I have had to do this at least half a dozen times. They will take care of the problem for you and check back with you to see if it is resolved. I always try calling AT&T the first time to try to get resolution, and when (not if) that fails, I call the PSC.
It works!

I use Playstation Vue through my PS4, but you can access the app from a fire stick as that is what we do in our bedroom. They have different packages, but for $50 month, I get all the channels that LSU could possibly be on and access to all the NFL games I'd care to watch as well. And, after football season I turn it off, happens in an instant, and then wait till next football season to bring it back.

This doesn’t mean what you think it means.

I had an issue with ATT that was "solved" 5 separate times. After at least ten phone calls they deducted $350 out of my checking account without my approval. I blew a gasket till they finally admitted their mistake and finally fixed the problem after about 4 months. I did get the $350 back.
