Probably running utilities for all the new structures in the area. Pretty sure a mixed use development is going up on the corner closest to Arlington cottages where they have been doing site work.

Also clearing the land on the empty corner across from win-dixie for a retail building

With all that new construction I'm sure they had to run new cable lines

I don't know but that intersection is at its saturation point. All those new apartments have got traffic all fricked up

Beyond. That entire portion of Burbank went from a second interstate for south BR to a headache.

Headache is an understatement. With those new places being built, its not uncommon to see it bumper to bumper starting at Lakeside by 7:15 AM

Burbank has turned into Sherwood Forest. It's only drives me outside of work hours.

There is another giant complex about to go up between cottages and exchange as well.

y'all ain't ready for what is going to happen in that area.

I work for a commercial contractor so i get to see a lot of the plans.

you think that intersection is a cluster now? they have two separate mixed developments in the works, another large scale housing complex, and a lot on the market zoned for another commercial development. All within 1/4 mile of the intersection. It is going to become the equivalent of perkins and bluebonnet in 10 years.

That isn't even considering the fact that the lots on both sides of ben hur at the ben hur/nicholson intersection have been grubbed/cleared and are just waiting for someone to develop them. These are also zoned for mixed use/commercial.

I have no problem with commercial and retail being added to that area, just sick of the student housing on every inch of land. Commercial/retail may keep some of those tenants off the streets as well.

Have you heard anything about the anchors for the MUD? I know target and home depot were mentioned Yeats ago, but I think that died in 2008.

Haven't heard anything about anchors. but the plans i saw for it could easily be built out for a target or the like. The area is full of their target market too so it seems like a viable option.

IIRC rotolo's and a sammys-ish concept are going in one of those commercial developments.

Rotolos definitely is, I think sammys is going closer to the Kenilworth extension area.

pre the opening of those apts it took me 15 mins to get to work. Now it takes 45 going that way.

ahh probably where the new superior is going. Honestly I've seen so many building announcements and RFQ's for that area it all kind of blends together.

I still think the absolute worst thing that could have happened is the building of the 2 student complexes on west parker/dodson and next to taco bell. All the stuff SE of the Lee/Burbank intersection has more than one entrance and exit.

The sterling complex and the park 7 complex are going to add about 1400 cars to an area less than a 1/2 sq. mile all within two years.
