Minor as in that blemish on your knuckles that you like to show off.

$1100 for the 5 year and $1500 for the lifetime. Wheels are extra and that was $550.
He is in San Diego and has a Porsche so imagine price would be higher on a larger car.

Damn. I'm trying to figure out if that is worth is. I can already tell you the wheels are not worth it. If you get a blow out the day after you already lost 1/4 of the deal lol

They installed it on my GX just on the hood, fenders, and mirrors. I'd say that's all anyone would need for normal driving. No chips or nicks under the film.

How much did it cost you? I have a new car and already found a few rock chips on my bumper and hood and it pisses me off.

$550 is crazy but with that being said, the remove the wheels, take the tires off, clean the crap out of them, do both sides of wheels. They also take the calipers off and do them as well.

Yea for some reason I was thinking they just keep the tires shining.
I'm an idiot for not even thinking about the rims. I take back my original statements. I actually just put in my info for a quote on the ceramic 5 year one.

Is this like putting clear plastic on your couch?

Ceramic is a spray?
Can you get it off the vehicle?
Do they just do the front?
Vinyl seems like better protection, but it also seems like finish of a coating could be better.

Think of ceramic coating as a thick wax that can last 5 years. It will make keeping the car clean a lot easier and protect against small damages. The clear wrap protects against a lot more road debris and if you get a quality wrap you won't have to change it every few years. You can also do individual panels of the car or the front cap if you travel a lot, just don't let anyone tell you that you can do half a hood and you won't be able to see the line where it stops. If you go to a good shop you shouldn't be able to tell that the car is wrapped. Also, the ceramic coating shouldn't be 2k for a sports car. My friend was quoted $1200 for 5 year with paint correction and wheels coated on a crew crab full size truck.

I just bought a new 4Runner TRD Pro about a month ago and I had Xpel film installed on the entire front of the vehicle, the hood, and part of the front fenders, as well as the mirrors. Cost $750 and if you drive on the interstate often it's worth it. You can scratch this shite and it will heal itself in the sun.

I would say it depends on the car and what you use it for. On a daily driver, I don't think it's all that important unless it's a relatively expensive car (such as that Panamera Turbo).
If it's a sports car that you plan to take to the track, then I can't recommend it enough. I didn't do it on my Cayman and there are quite a few nicks and dings in the hood from the track. The first thing I did on the 911 was have a clear wrap installed on the whole front of the car (hood, front quarter panels, mirrors, etc). That was one of the best things I've done for my car. After two years and some track duty, it still looks as good as new.
If you decide to get one done, do your research and find a quality installer in your area. The installer is usually more important than the brand you go with (3M, Suntek, XPEL).
