If you want to weight train, I suggest low weight with sets of 12-15. Avoid things like bench, squat, dead lift, etc. the machines are a good start, but I'm not sure what Anytime has to offer. I work out next door to you at the parks in lakeview and they have plenty of machines that may be more suites for a guy your age. As far as cardio goes I'd agree that incline walking, elliptical, stationary bike or other low impact (swimming) exercise would be good for you to preserve the remaining cartilage you have.
