it was a question

people have always been shitty to other people.
Slavery wasnt created in America, in Africa there are still slaves and no, its not because of race but it is tribal. SO had you been born to the wrong tribe you could live in abject poverty. India has a caste system. Asia as a whole is INSANELY racist, far more than the West.

So while we have our faults this country give the individual the best chance to succeed regardless of race/tribe/skin color/econmic status
It was a shitty question pertaining to the subject. You have now changed the subject to "look at how shitty everyone else in the world is, it's not just America". That is what kids do when when they are faced with having to be accountable for their actions. "But Timmy made bad grades too, Mommy"

you are the one that started posting pictures of atrocities that happened a hundred years ago to use as a crutch.

Doesn't make any less relevant to the topic. There have been lynchings in Alabama as recent as the 80s

Lsu gets lynched in Tuscaloosa every other year

Black folks had a raw deal. Everyone knows that. Some have pulled through and some have not. At this point, I think where we end up has more to do with our work ethic and not with past injustices

man you are something else. Let's just stick to the original topic of America. You don't want to do that because it makes you feel uncomfortable.

I see all that "cool black guy" shite has flown out the window. Once faced with facts they usually revert to the same talking points.

it's ok as long as we make them feel good about themselves. i don't blame anyone alive today for what happened back then, and i've never met anyone who does. problem is, many white people claim blacks today are so violent, etc.... and completely ignore the fact that not 50 years ago black men were being hung and castrated, sicked dogs upon, and little girls bombed in churches. but we're the animals.

and tonight in my city (based on statistics) a young black man will lose his life at the hands of another young black man.

and it will happen tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next day...................

black people are indeed victims. but not just at the hands of white people.

I actually agree with this whole heartedly. My point is that if we can have an honest conversation about what has happened and be a little more empathetic, it would go a long way in mending the racial strife that we face currently. Empathy can go a long way in solving some of the unjust things the black community faces in some areas.

you have NO IDEA of the things I have done in my life, how I treat others, regardless of skin color, race, creed, religion, nation or origin, sexual preference, ect
you have no clue to my families history in the civil rights movement the examples set for me.

Ive already agreed this County has had its transgressions but I believe our system still allows the individual the best chance to rise or fall on thier on accord

Native Americans have it worse... Not only were they killed for their land they were forced to relocate. Of course they only wanted casinos for the past sins of man.

no, he's not saying that at all. he specifically said in this country.

but since we're on the subject, please present a demographic that has had an equal plight to black americans and have risen up to equal that of their former oppressors.

I disagree. The time for a black leader on the macro level has come/gone, IMO. Times are different now.

Times are different but people are same to their core. If you don't give the masses a leader they latch onto demagogues and false causes (see Shaun King, BLM, Michael Brown, etc.).

Lynchings continued well into the 1940s and 50s.

Emmet Till
Medgar Evars
Those little girls in that church in Birmingham would be my mothers age if they were still alive.

That type of racial hatred is hardly a generation removed from present day America.

I also find it amusing when people say that " let it go, move on" bullshite. However it's perfectly fine to be swept up in delusions of granduer in regards to the "Southern Heritage" as a result of losing the Civil War

I think this is true because of that is what they have learned from religion. It always tells tales of a savior coming to save the people when they are at their worst. Moses, Jesus, David and so on. I don't need a leader because I'm a leader myself. So have been mentally crippled by religion to wait on someone else to come and save them. Not me
