Being an engineer I would first have to drive down to the root cause of these problems. It is very complex and multifaceted. Not trying to cop out just a lot to consider if you really wanted to solve this problem

Do you feel that people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson actually advance the cause of making race relations better, or do you think that they use racism as a way to gain money and notoriety and do not genuinely care that much about day in and day out race issues?
ETA: My question pertains mostly to these two. Obviously, there are true civil rights leaders who actually do work to make things better, and aren't worried about the money.

Racist as far as name calling yea it may be even, but if you are talking about things that disenfranchise another race, then no. Black people don't have the power to influence whites solely due to race.
