Wicked Weed --> Funkatorium --> Burial
Repeat.
Yup. Funkatorium wasn't open when we went, but definitely check out Wicked Weed (food as well) and Burial. Green Man and Wedge were probably my next favorites. Wedge is real close to where the new New Belgium facility is located. Green Man is right by Burial and the Funkatorium.
Also, check out French Broad Chocolate Lounge.

Wicked Weed is phenomenal. Sierra Nevada Brewery Tour for sure. I would plan a meal in thier brewpub. Didn't get to eat when I went, but the menu looked awesome.

Manager posts here. I'm hoping he shows up in the thread, cause I'm trying to get a room for July and they are saying they're booked.
I was previously supervising the Reservations department, but have since moved home to Mississippi and had a baby.
Most likely are booked if they are saying so. And probably even overbooked.. Will have some last-minute fall-off, but you would have to get pretty lucky to catch it while available.
Which dates are you considering? I already miss the mountains. And I can't even think about the beer.. :sob:
Edit: Agree with everything posted thus far. The dark chocolate creme brulee at French Broad Chocolate Lounge will ruin every other dessert you'll ever have. And Asheville Brewing Company has some of the best beer and pizza I've ever had. Try the Ninja Porter!

I suggest the fly fishing. If you fish the Cherokee waters, you can leave there after half a day fishing, drive straight north for 20 miles and enter an Appalachian trailhead, just to say you've hiked on the AT. The guys below was a super attentive, knowledgeable and passionate fisherman. He taught my wife how to cast a fly, and she hooked up on more Rainbow trout than I did.

A 1 hour Land Rover experience on the Biltmore off road course is really cool. Wine tour was great. Take the ghost tour bus in downtown asheville, but get your tickets in advance. There is also cave touring, ziplining, canoeing etc but those all close in late October.

Thank you. Your post yesterday is one of the ones that convinced me to go to Asheville.

Sounds fun. I'll look it up.

Definitely have lunch at 12 Bones one day
I've eaten there at least a dozen times and was always pleased, but a couple of weeks ago I had lunch there and was really disappointed. It changed hands a couple of years ago and it's possible the quality has suffered.

I think New Belgium opened their brewery by now. It may be worth a tour.
It should be opened for tours by the fall, but it will be hard pressed to be better than the Sierra Nevada brewery which has been opened for a while.

Go zip-lining at Navitat. Place is cool.

Prepare for hipsters. They're everywhere.

Lake Lure and Chimney Rock are a short drive south.

Do the beer mile, attend a tourist game, eat at biscuit head, hike the black balsam area of the blue ridge parkway.

I'm not sure if they're officially qualified hipsters. More like homeless.

This guy has it pretty much covered. WW is awesome. Burial is great. Wedge is super hip.
Outside of that I would go with the earlier advice and get out in the woods as much as possible.
The breweries are amazing but there's not much else in the town that is super interesting. The surrounding nature is great.
