Ascension Parish Wins Again - Bluff Middle School #1 in the State of Louisiana

Dear Bluff Middle School Community,
Today, the Louisiana Department of Education released School Performance Scores (SPS) for the 2020-2021 school year. Due to the Covid-19 and the challenges it presented in education last year, these scores were released without the usual letter grade attached.
We are EXTREMELY PROUD to announce that Bluff Middle School achieved a SPS of 106 in our first year!! This score was the highest score among all Ascension Parish Public Schools! If letter grades would have been given, Bluff Middle would be an “A” school.

• #1 Middle School in the state of Louisiana with non-selective entry
• 71% of students scored Mastery and above on Leap (the only schools in the state with higher percentages are selective admissions schools)

We would like to thank our students and parents/guardians for their focus on education last year despite the challenges provided by both Covid-19 and starting at a new school. Whether it was in person or virtual, our students were resilient and prioritized learning while navigating quarantines and social distancing. Students worked extremely hard to achieve these incredible results.
A HUGE THANKS is given to our teachers and staff members. These dedicated professionals overcame so many challenges to provide the best possible education for our students. They quickly became experts in virtual instruction, navigated the opening of a new school during a global pandemic, and built strong relationships with your children in year one. They worked extremely hard to create a culture of excellence at Bluff Middle School.
