Exactly. How dare he get defiant when some a-hole storms up at him and lays hands on him?

can bet that the kid was asked and got defiant. I had employees like that. No matter what it was, they could be 30 min late and act as if it was my fault.

Does the kid not have a right to be defiant? He's not the kid's dad, he's not the police, nor is the kid in the military.

Unless the kid was walking on the guy's property, why tf should he respect someone who's trying to tell him where he can and cannot walk?

Y’all can act all aghast if you choose. But If someone decides to park himself walking back and force on your sidewalk you ask him what’s up. He starts acting odd.

Not saying what happened but I’d imagine something triggered the escalation.

So do I but I doubt that we're thinking along the same lines.

Maybe. You think he would have done that to a white kid? I don't.

Does the kid actually live in the neighborhood?

According to Johnson, Deandre lives in the Summit neighborhood not far from where the incident occurred in a planned community called The Lakes at Barony Place. She said he has been “walking plenty of times and he lives in the summit!” She added, “Deandre was calm throughout.”

Assuming the sidewalk is public property, they had 2 choices - be nosy neighbors or call the fricking cops. Going out and getting into altercations with people in broad daylight is a dickhead move.

This is the kind of shite that causes sometimes fatal misunderstandings.

I live 7 miles from the Summit neighborhood. Its probably 75% black so its very normal to see a black person there.

The Summit consist of 4 or 5 neighborhoods but all inside the Summit. It started out as upscale but over time has become the lower end area of Northeast Columbia. I will let y'all guess what the difference is.
