These days during these uncertain times, if you have a few extra bucks... throw a few to them

I have W+ and get delivery every couple weeks. I do not tip. I pay $100 a year for the service which includes all aspects of it in my mind.

I do this on every pickup. Some will grab it and some won’t.

they don't accept tips.

When I worked at WMT back in the 80's the stock people that would help people take stuff to their cars weren't supposed to accept tips but they often did anyway.

Walmart uses 3rd party delivery services to deliver their orders. Without tips those drivers are making nowhere near minimum wage. But someone may accept an order because the destination is close to home or just to keep moving.

I think any order that is delivered using a personal vehicle should be a minimum $5 tip. But Walmart should also be transparent about outsourcing the delivery to a contractor that isn’t paid an hourly wage and build the minimum into their offering so the consumer can decide if it’s worth the increased cost

Having unknown people making less than minimum wage come to your home is not what I'd consider a good idea.
It's the same reason I don't do "come pick it up free at my house" items on Facebook.

I'm sorry if it sounds mean.

Oh I agree. I’m just pointing out that a lot of people may not realize the people delivering aren’t actually being paid by the store. I do a few Instacart runs (where you have to pick out the items yourself) per month when I go to Costco. I’ll be the first to admit I’m a penny pincher. I’ll check a few times throughout the week when I have my Costco list ready and find a job that pays $40-$50 ($10 + healthy tip) and the delivery location is close to my home, I’ll head into town and knock out my groceries and someone’s order. Doesn’t really add much time inside Costco and it shaves some dollars off my bill.

No tip if pick up. Tip if deliver.
