Or not by into your hysteria that Bernard Terrace, Capital Heights, and half of old Goodwood are unsafe.

Why else would Old Goodwood pay over $200,000 a year for off duty cops to patrol. So does Tara, Broadmoor, Sherwood Forest.........

Same reason Country Club of Louisiana does?

To be fair I wasn't going as full throttle against BR as many in this thread were.

The only difference is the people in The Country Club can afford a fence and their own streets as well. Kinda like a castle.

Strongly disagree. Baton Rouge folks are leaps and bounds better than people from the New Orleans area.

They are generally nicer, IMO.

Takes more than nice people to fix a school district.

Pretty depressing for a young single guy.

While this is true, it doesn't make a city shitty. Outside of huge population centers and tourist-based cities, most mid-sized cities don't cater to single adults.

Sigh. Quit looking to Facebook for your news.

In point of fact I don't FB or anything else for that matter. I'm not suggesting crime is rampant everywhere, but I dont think it's inaccurate or dramatic to suggest that crime- even petty crimes- have hit just about everywhere. BR isn't unique in that, but to dismiss it is foolish.

Hmmm, I see this thread.

Is LSUnurse in here up to her usual shenanigans?

Oh and btw, BR is doing just fine as it has the highest credit rating of any city in the state but it still needs a lot of work like more ISDs, school vouchers and charter schools and getting rid of the ghettos between downtown and LSU. Traffic infrastructure is a must also. While not a world beater, BR is still in just decent shape.

I know your reasons why you hate BR .. and they are all grounded in personal transgressions that could have happened anywhere .. They had nothing to do with BR, so why live your life blaming BR for them ?

Clearly you don't if you think I left here simply because I had a rough childhood in BR.

Sounds like I do .. You got the hell out of Dodge and barely come back to see your family .. You have bad memories .. It's not BR .. It's just your unfortunate decisions .. But keep rationalizing them via your "hatred" for BR

Rag, we need to meet at the old bridge over the canal at the end of white oak drive where it goes into VDR and drink a few. As long as those damn hordes of Spinosa's show up looking to rumble.

EBR schools'traditional programs yes need tons of help. However if you get your kid into a magnet program or a good gifted program then the education is very good. I would put EBR's magnet kids up against any school district in Louisiana. If you disagree with me look up the magnet schools' scores.
