re: Are there trashy (white trash like) folks in Japan?

Re their low birth rate, my son has lived there 3+ yrs now & recently married a beautiful young lady. Of the many cultural differences we have discussed is their low birth rate. She said the main problem is that Japanese men, more & more, are against relationships resulting in significantly less marriages; thus,less babies. She also said that Japan is 99% Japanese, i.e. there is very little diversity,resulting in their culture today being basically the same as it was centuries ago. Son says they are the healthiest,politest people he has been associated with & he has traveled throughout most of Europe. He won't be coming home,my loss but he is happy.
