I'll say this for 'em; they're generous AF.

They don't mind picking up a tab, and they tell some funny-arse stories.

Just don't mention whales, it's a real buzz kill for 'em.

We were in Sea Grove this past week. No shark sightings but did have a manatee swim by. Also a sting ray. It was really sunny and crystal clear water, so any sea life coming in would be easily spotted. Everyone was looking out too.

There were very few people past the sand bar though. I don’t think I saw anyone going out past 50 yards. Everyone stayed close to the shoreline.

You should see the 14' resident tiger shark that hangs out at the tip of the cape. He's a beast

Have seen. The cape is full of sharks, especially St Joe bay.

sharks are pretty tasty

I remember my dad grilling shark steaks when I was a kid. They had a very white meat and were delicious. But I've heard they can have high levels of mercury nowadays

First Monday PCB , I go get some coffee at the closest store and the lady working the register was talking to a customer and gave him his plate back. Seems the guy is a guide and brought her some shark. She said it was good.

shark is very delicious and back in the nineties it was very popular and was sold in most supermarkets, there were a few deaths from eating shark, or attributed to it, that reeled that fad in, sharks are extremely resistant to carcinogens and consequently ingest a lot of them with no affect

I too remember this. Marinate in Dales/equivalent, grill like a steak.

Mercury buildup is in any pelagic fish at the top of the food chain. The bigger they get, the more mercury they accumulate. This goes back way before the 90's. People just didn't seem to give a shite. Also, hippies decided killing sharks was bad and hippies started getting positions of bureacratic power in the 90's.

Shark meat has no more carcinogens than any other large ocean predator.

Yep sharks and beaches have a ride or die relationship; can’t be closer to each other

I saw several "great white's" on the beach in Gulf Shores recently. If I had to guess I would say they were 350....

We just got back from Miramar beach yesterday. We saw 3 sharks Saturday morning 10 feet off the shore. They have helicopters flying over the beach every 5 minutes

Those are just tourist flights. They had nothing to do with trying to spook the sharks

Stay out of the water until after 9AM and after 4:30-5 PM and you shouldn't have any problems with sharks
