Hence why Ive soured on church so much. It seemed to become like everything else in the world.....selfish, and everyone sleazily creeping towards their personal desires while trying to trick everyone into believing something else entirely.

Or the people who do it just to make themselves feel better for the week.

Its a tough battle in my mind.

That is pretty much why I attend. I actually benefit more at Sunday School with Bible study than a worship service. I do watch Dr. Stanley and his service. I don't attend to be seen, respected, or acknowledged. It is simply for the improvement of me as a person, to learn, and to develop a better relationship with Christ. Btw, I'm not Catholic.

It depends on what they're doing outside of Church. If your doing dope, fricking randoms, and just being a shitty person then no. What a person does in church and how frequent they attend has nothing to do with who they are imo. My fav example is the super church Our saviors of Opelousas. 2/3 of that place is shite ppl who attend every Sunday because it's fun and it makes them feel good about their shittines.

I know first hand because I've got a few family members who drive from our home town to attend. One of the greatest men I've ever known did not attend Church but wa son his knees every night next to his bed "having his talk" with God.

This reminds me... Not trying to highjack but what's yall thoughts on priorities? Is it God, wife, kids? God, kids, wife? Haha I love my wife to death but my love for my kids is on a whole diff level. I got a good scolding once by my preacher man cousin for feeling this way. He says my wife should be before my children. Sorry, but that's just not the case and I know damn well it isn't for her neither. I'd be a little upset if it was

I don't respect a person just because they go to church. I respect a person from how they live their life outside of church and how they treat people. Growing up in NW Houston, the majority of the people who were constantly going to church that I knew were mostly judgmental assholes and hypocrites. I know not everyone was like that, as there were some really good people, but I will never respect someone more just because they regularly attend their church.
