well hello there sweeping generalizations. shouldn't both parties continue to put in effort into their roles as spouse and partner? also, there is no reason to seek validation outside of a marriage. If you're feeling neglected by your partner, you need to speak to that person and try to work on it - not stick your dingaling in a new grass patch.

The problem with many married women with kids is they want to be a mom 100% of the time and don't dedicate any time to also being a wife. Once the kids leave, the marriage falls apart.....and many times, the dude finds a side piece way before then.

A woman has to be a mom 100% of the time, so men need to learn to deal with it or help

Besides - does the marriage fall apart because hubby got a side piece instead of suggesting dinner out with the person he married? Sometimes when women act like moms 100% of the time, men act like husbands 0%

God
Marriage
Children
You
Work

In that order is a recipe for a happy life. Get them mixed up and trouble follows. While I’ve struggled at times with the order, I’m generally happy in my marriage because I got that order mostly right.

Yep. And it's even better when you find the right one to be by your side.

1. You're assuming the man is not helping, but often times they ARE helping. I see more husbands being Dads and trying to be a husband while the wife only wants to be a Mom and not a wife.

2. I don't condone seeking validation outside of the marriage but often times, this happens because the wife dedicates no time to the husband. It's just a fact that you obviously don't want to accept.

I'm content. Hell, not much makes me happy. One child who will be in college next year at Rhodes. Actually been looking forward to that.

I'm referring to marriages where the Husband does his duty as a Dad but the wife refuses to spend time as a wife with him. Many of those men get fed up and find another woman on the side. Not defending it, but you need to recognize woman are often responsible for it leading down the path it does.

100% of the time? Unlikely.

Most of the time? Sure.

Unless most are going gay, sounds like a moral decline in young men too.

Modern young women aren't interested in marriage and being wives when they are young, beautiful, and desirable.

What they don't understand is that while a woman only cares about a man's future (his ability to provide her with the lifestyle she desires), a man cares about a woman's past.

No guy who has his life together wants to commit to a washed up party girl with a triple digit body count.

it happens because the man either does not respect his spouse enough to end the relationship due to feeling neglected or because he's a coward and scared to actually sever the relationship without something to fall back on. The same can be said when a woman cheats. However, it is not ANY partner's fault when the other cheats. It is the cheater's own fault for not having the convictions or morals to solve the problem in a different way that doesn't involve completely betraying their partner.

Oh I get it, my grandparents, parents, and brother’s marriages dissolved bc the woman had no interest in marriage or being a wife. But there were clues along the way the men should’ve picked up or not have ignored to know these women were not wife or marriage material.

It’s a messy situation - most of its due to the lack of communication on both parties

I had both of my kids out of the house for 6 months until the oldest boomeranged. She'll be off again in May.

The house was quiet and boring before she came back. Maybe we didn't get a chance to figure out the empty nest yet.

The big step is to get both of them completely off the dole. I will believe that when I see it.

The saddest scenario is when one partner is happy and thinking everything is great… meanwhile, ole baw/ole gal is out testing the waters.

Men will get fed up and get a divorce.

A woman never files for divorce until she has her next provider locked down.
The marriage ended long before she filed.
