re: Are gay guy's lisps natural or learned?

It's 100 percent learned and by choice. Same with how they walk and use their hands. Gay black people act the gayest (no racist). I don't see women using lisps or walking goofy.

None of my gay buddies speak with a lisp; however, I know more than a few "straight" Aggies who do.

I think for some they're natural, for others learned. Some people I've known since they were like 5 had the gay lisp at the very start. Gays who act straight also start acting gayer and showing their lisp more when they're with other gay people. So it's both IMO.
This. My Step Brother had the lisp since Elementary School and didn't come out until he was grown. On the other hand I've known guys that were straight (or so I thought) that developed the lisp after coming out.

They've gotta be doing it on purpose. There is no Los Gayland where all gay people come from and have the same accent.
Liking dongs doesn't change your accent.

I recall seeing a documentary trailer that explored this exact question. Maybe the answer is at the end of it. Not sure of the title.
I saw this film a couple years ago at the sidewalk film festival in birmingham.
Its called "Do I Sound Gay?"

Good film
Looks like the whole thing is on youtube

Maybe it's a street cred thing to show your gayness. Even gays can't deny there's a correlation.

I don't have access to the Aggie board so I'm asking here.
We can give you access if you'd like but there's a small non monetary fee to get in.

This is the largest argument for people who believe it is a choice.
People aren't born with accents either. It's learned.

If gay guys want to be attracted to one another why do they in general attempt to act so feminine? Wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose?
Posted on 6/18/17 at 7:27 pm to Box Geauxrilla
Ehhh... the ones with lisps are always the more effeminate gay men. There are plenty of gay men that you would never never know are gay unless you know them personally and they have no lisp.
My cousin is one of those gay men who has no lisp. He's a hardcore Kentucky fan, works out, not effeminite at all, can hang out with straight men and not stand out.. No one in the family had a clue until he came out in college. He's about a straight an arrow as you'll find in a gay man. He's also a Trumpkin.

Why don't nurses have lisp then?
Dicks are naturally supposed to go there, not in a guys mouth.

The documentary do I sound gay is really interesting. I couldn't watch the whole thing because it was so gay.
Most of the guys said I do not know why I speak this way, and agreed that they were attracted to more masculine features, which was not the way they talked.

We were born without any concept of language. It's all learned.
If your parents locked you in the closet your whole life, you'd just be making sounds when you finally came out.

Learned. This is the Hollywood, Bravo Channel, stylized gay. Then you have the Johnny Cakes from The Sopranos gay that are dudes who just happen to be gay and who you should probably not frick with.
