It really has nothing to do with the flag.

It's basic human psychology. Take something away or reduce availability and suddenly, more people (even those who never had interest) want it.

Toy manufacturers do it before Christmas to create buzz.

That's what's happening here. By trying to remove it from public view, these dumbasses are creating a desire to own it.

It's like they all never read a marketing or psychology book.

Congrats to those who sell the rebel flag. You're income is about to triple.

I've never wanted a rebel flag but I'll be damned if I'm not trying to find a General Lee.

What happened? People who had NO INTEREST in the game started to want it. Those people who LOVED the game were paying absorbent prices for a damn iPhone with the game on it.

They are going about this the wrong way and it's going to backfire. Hell, it already has.

I actually know a lot about one of the games removed. It is called Ultimate General: Gettysburg. It has no story, no politics, no good guys or bad guys. You just move units around the battlefield within historically accurate scenarios from the Battle of Gettysburg.

I played on Steam forever and watched info from the developers because I thought it would translate great to the iPad. Those dudes spent so much time getting it right and came out with one of the best iPad games that has ever been released. They released it only a couple of months ago and now they are out of the store.

This beats anything Amazon or Wal Mart has done. Apple is the leader in the clubhouse so far for absurdity this week.

The guys that made the game I cited above have released a statement that they have been told by Apple that their game can go back into the App Store if it is scrubbed of the Confederate flag.

Their response is that they have been contacted by numerous teachers that have used their game to engage their students in history and make it come to life. They also,stated that they have put great pains into making their game a historically accurate recreation of historic events and will cut their losses and not jump through the hoops that Apple has offered to get their game back in the store.

They brought up the point that they see no difference between their game, which is intended to be interactive history, and the movie Gettysburg, which is still available on iTunes.

I applaud them and as an Apple fan, I think this is so absolutely absurd I can't even imagine how they were this stupid.
