Bought him an A2000 his freshman year and he only used it during practice for about a year to get it broken in. Didn’t play a game with it until his sophomore year. We didn’t bake it, steam it, or oil it. Catching 1000’s of balls broke it in

We’ve been buying baseball equipment for over 10 years and never heard of this place. Thanks!

The gloves they show online are available and broken in. It shouldn’t take more then a couple days to ship. Should have it before Christmas. They actually answer the phone too. A call wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Just a FYI. My son had a A2000 for a couple years. He switched over to a fully customized 44 Pro for his last 3 years of high school. He preferred the 44 pro over the Wilson. You could do a gift certificate and let him customize it.

Buy it from the glove whisperer online. You can buy them broken in. It won’t be perfect but it’ll cut the typical break in period ten fold.

If you need to get it locally, Grundmann’s may have them. Dicks definitely has them.

That takes out half the fun of buying a new mitt. Jesus. There's nothing like a quality piece of leather that's been broken in over time exactly like you want it. frick this steaming and oiling the crap out of the glove to make soft as hell. You want it supple yet firm and to really only bend along the crease when you close the glove with a nice baseball sized pocket right in the sweet spot.

I get it. There is still a long break in period, but it takes half the time. Those A2k gloves are hard as frick to break in, baw.

The A2000 was like wearing a piece of plywood on your hand until it was broken in

A2K or A2000? There is a difference in quality.

Personally, when I played I preferred a Rawlings heart of the hide or gold glove series, which doesn’t help much for this topic.

I wouldn’t go through the hassle if the A2000 is broken in. There is not much difference between the two. I know kids want what they want.

I gotcha, I couldn’t tell you where to go in BR/NOLA for a glove. Just curious why he wants the A2K, A2000 is a better glove imo.

Eta: when I worked at a local sporting goods store for a few years in Bossier City, everybody wanted the 2000.

One of his buddies has him convinced that the A2K is the better glove and is gonna start using his old 2000 when it gets broken in.
