Wife and I went for our first anniversary (went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon).

It was a blast not being on anyone's (re. Child/family) schedule and getting drunk while riding rides. We didn't wait in lines for any character as that wasn't the reason we were there. Had nice dinners (Victoria & Albert's) and just enjoyed walking around with each other without any cares.

My thought processes are that Disney is overpriced as hell and Disney has put a worm into all of the heads of parents with some means that they have failed as parents if they don't take their kids to Disney before they are 14 or so.

My parents took me to Disney when I was 12. I'm sure they sacrificed to do that. All I remember is all of the great times at the lake because we were big campers. That was much cheaper.

A wife that wants to go spend a big chunk to go to Disney rather than take that same chunk and do something much more awesome is gonna be a pain in the arse.

What I don't get is 1) you're young 2) you can go anywhere in the world 3) you're not tied down by children... and you choose Disney World. How childish must you be to want to hang out with costumed cartoon characters on your honeymoon?

Maldives

It's a remote, interesting location with some great diving, snorkeling, wildlife, and beautiful beaches.

Downside: no Cinderella's Castle.

We went to Disney for our honeymoon.

Wasnt my ideal, but it wasnt a cold weather vacation so I agreed.

I had never been to Disney world, on the other hand instead of going there my family traveled all over the world so I had no interest in doing that again.

It also helped that her family are dvc members and we go our room free. Her sister/bil work there so we got into parks free and got reservations to places that werent available.

It was a good time, we spent most of the time at epcot going around the world.

Starting out was tough and having a basically all expenses paid trip was more relaxing than having to worry about how much we were spending and all that jazz.

Disney really isnt my thing, but its way higher on the list than most places recommended for honeymoons.

Mistaking Disneyland for Disney World. Nerd.

To your point, we didn't go on our honeymoon, but the wife (no pics) and I have been by ourselves on several occasions. It was fantastic.

I went for mine. It was a free gift and it was 18 years ago, so not as crowded.
Can't all go to Grand Isle like folks like you.
Also went for a work trip with my wife. Pretty fun being there with no kids to entertain

I would bet that it is. I think going to Disney World on your honeymoon is in fact worse than a virgin on a message board acting like a macho man.

You can never get your honeymoon back. A virgin on a message board isn't really losing anything.
