Like I said, this one is in Texas and I am not crossing the state lines with it until I know I legally can despite what the bank tells me. The bank just wants shite gone from the house so they can resell it so they don't care. The Constable on the other hand was a complete arse and I know he will follow up on things if I just take it. I am actually going to put it in storage in Texas per him and the bank while it gets sorted out. There was also a 3 wheeler in awesome shape there too. Pure redneck!

How many of you people with small notes work in an office and only drive car to work?

How many of you people with big notes work on the road?

Different strokes...

I'm a corporate tax accountant. TX taxes are ridiculous. Just because they don't have a state income tax doesn't mean they aren't gouging the shite out of you on property tax. And the Franchise tax that was implemented years ago is completely awful. A lot of people were calling it unconstitutional. Really unfriendly to businesses.

They will once I put it in storage.

It can't stay on the property once the foreclosure is finished because the bank will own the house then and I can't just take it or dispose of it so it will be in limbo basically which is why I have to put it in storage. I need to check and see if I advertise it for so long if I can file it as abandoned property. I know in LA you can but not sure about TX.

Of course, their public school system is pretty amazing due to all the ISD's getting those property taxes, so maybe there is something to be said for it when you look at the deplorable state of the LA public school system.

To each his own. I don't see the point of living below your means for decades so you can be "rich" in your old age and die with a pile of money in the bank. My first year out of dental school, my boss was making $450K. He died at age 42 a block away from his house due to a carload of drunk teenagers. You have to enjoy life while you can. I have always lived paycheck to paycheck (albeit large paychecks). I've always bought what I wanted when I wanted, whether I had the money or not. Yet I've never paid a bill late on my life. At age 44 I had to go on disability due to back and neck problems. I had to give up racing motocross, racing sportbikes, fishing, golf, and pretty much everything else I enjoy. And when I did those things, I generally had the best toys I could afford to finance and pay a note on. And it beats the hell out of sitting here as someone with a pile of money in the bank regretting that I didn't spend it when I could enjoy life. Live your life like every day is your last. Money is for spending.

I didn't mind paying property tax in Texas cause I could see the awesome schools, roads, etc they used it on. In LA I pay property and income tax AND private school tuition.

I drove around 6 months in a car with no A/C. It was fricking miserable. My note is a little higher than what I wanted, but damn I was ready to reward myself a little bit.

I may be off the road though soon, so I may regret it once that happens.
