I have some pretty severe anxiety issues. I take Remeron at night and have Ativan for acute onset. I've been awakened in the middle of the night in the midst of a full on panic attack thinking I'm having a heart attack. I use Ativan for flying and things like that.

I also do deep breathing exercises if I feel an attack coming on an relaxation yoga for help sleeping. Both seem to help.

Do these meds help with OCD? It's not an anxiety issue for me. It's intrusive thoughts and that's what triggers my OCD. Like checking the stove to make sure it's off and things like that....

2 beers and a cigar nightly > anxiety medication

I had a 5 year stretch of the worst shite that can happen to a person, one thing after the next, I was prescribed meds, might have taken a pill twice in that time. Beer and cigars was much more effective and enjoyable.

Talk to your dr. OCD has an anxiety component.

I have a prescription for .5 mg of xanax that I take as needed. I normally only take half of it. Had my first panic attack this summer and didn't know what was happening. I really thought I was having a heart attack/about to die. Called 911 and everything. I was under a lot of stress and I worry about my health a lot (Type 1 diabetic, hypothyroidism) and it all finally came to a head. I resisted going on the medication for awhile but around Christmas I needed a little help. The medication really helps calm me down when
I start to feel the panic creep in. It's a good boost for me until I can learn to deal with it on my own.

i have a script for xanax, one for halcion, and one for valium.

these drugs are highly addictive. Try not to use them if you can.

I normally reserve them for sleep related issues or acute anxiety problems (i.e. death of a friend or family member).

They are a crutch, and don't address root issues. And suddenly you can wake up and realize you have anxiety unless you take your meds. Not a good place to be.

But they are very useful for something traumatic or an anxiety attack.

Cannabis>>>>>>>>>>>>>>benzodiazepines,alcohol,opiates

Most people taking those would probably prefer a strong indica, but more times than not I'd prefer an indica dominant hybrid.

Sativa=day
Indica=night

This this this. (not that I'd really know, but probably anything is better than pills...)

How do they think that a natural plant is worse than a man-made chemical anyway?
Also, sucks that I live in a state that would be one of the last to legalize. I could probably get a script for it...

As much shite that goes on in Louisiana, it seems as if the stance on it would be different.

The shite I grew up seeing in daylight in the French quarter alone would suggest no one in this state gives a damn. But i know it's not the major cities that would oppose. Louisiana loves its private prisons.

You wouldn't even have to smoke, it can be absorbed into the fat of butter and made into food, and that's just 1 alternative. The hemp plant could help reduce deforestation.

And personally, I'd open a dispensary and live on St Charles.

so how is a man made hybrid plant more natural than natural ingredients put together to form medicine?

...That makes zero sense. I'm not gonna try to reason with that.

it makes perfect sense. you were saying pot was better because it was natural and medicine was man made. I told you that the pot you smoke is bred by man for certain characteristics. medicine is just natural substances that are put together by man.... same thing in my mind yet you are hell bound that medicine is so bad cause it is man made.

I didn't think about it but that would be taking more than 100 pills a day.

As far as Lexipro and Celexa I can only give you my experience.

Lexipro made me feel really weird.Had the crawling brain.

I've been taking 40 mg of Celexa for 8 years with no side effects.

I can't sleep without it.A seratonin thing.

eta: I've taken 2-3 1mg Xanax a day for the last 12 years.Wish I didn't but it's too late now.

Xanax withdrawals will bring you close to death. It's really bad.

My understanding is that Xanax is completely out of your system pretty quickly unlike other benzos.

With that logic, crystal meth is a natural substance. I think his point was that pot is an unrefined natural substance. You pick it, dry it, and smoke it. No mad scientific procedures to combine chemicals that would otherwise not be combined.

I think he ment how man "created these hybrid plants" ..by taking pollen from a sativa male and shaking it on an indica female or vice versa.

The real reason cannabis is "stronger today" is because of better genetics identified and grow methods perfected.

correct. same reason we have corn cobs that are fuller and healthier. another example would be farm raised animals. ducks, chickens, turkeys, cattle are all specially breed and feed to produce the meatiest animal which in no way would happen if man did not make this.

I was been very literal, im on the legalize train, i just hate when people act stupid and say it is sooooooo natural. When speaking in those terms basically everything is natural.
