It's weathered and leathery on the locals. Seems the 25 year olds look 40.

Key West is a horrible place, as others have mentioned the hippies run the asylum. I have a place in miami and have been 3 times. The other keys like islamorada arent anywhere near as bad but key west is very very liberal if ya get my drift. I personally dont enjoy watching 2 40 something males makeout on the street while i try to get dinner, and yes that really happened.

Also WTF happens to key west if a hurricane hits and somehow knocks out that 1 bridge that gets there, are they just done? Or just trying to GTFO if a hurricane is coming, there is 1 road in and out of the place, just something to consider.

Watch Bloodline on Netflix. Its exactly like that. The Coasties run blow, for every responsible citizen there are 2 whackjobs. If you love to fish, do it.

I heard they built an airport and introduced modern air transportation to the island.

I have never fished in my life and find the idea repugnant. Not kidding, why stick a hook in a little creatures mouth? Just net him.

So, no, I am not a fisherman.

That said, I could see myself snorkeling though I may be too fat to do so.

I always wanted to open up a cafe du monde somewhere on Duval St. I think you could make a killing with that. Lots of visitors there are familiar with NOLA and would know coffee and beignets. Have an outdoor seating area and some live acoustic music and I think you'd have a winner.

Do you like margaritas and are you willing to turn your liver into a stone?

Cool place but it would get very small, very fast. Think about that.

Not many shore places to snorkel. You'd need to boat to the best spots.
