The Airgas delivery guy's punctuality is wildly inconsistent.

So are the sales reps responsiveness and customer care. We have not had a good sales rep from Airgas in years but their prices cant be beat so we tolerate it.

I know someone who works for them as an OTR semi driver in Houston. He makes bank. He likes the culture of the company- safety conscious, and well maintained equipment.

I worked for them for 6 years. Out on the west coast they had their shite together. Down here it's a circus to say the least. Zero structure, zero management. They are way too top heavy.

The AL acquisition was supposed to catapult them into a league of their own but unfortunately they bit off more than they could chew. Their lack of customer service and inability to produce consistantly is overshadowed by their lowball prices that no one else can beat.

The turnover in the last year since I left has only gotten worse. They claimed to have a way to stay on top but as soon as the Prax/Linde merger is complete they will crumble.

BIL works for AL. Houston at offices adjacent to the Galleria Mall. They have been a solid company for a long time. He says nothing about any business problems, now or in future.

So were you former AL or Airgas before the acquisition?

No, I work for another major in the industry.

Add product quality and consistency to the list. Can't agree with you more about their customer support though, it's abysmal. We would have switched suppliers years ago if there were any other regional suppliers.

You must not talk to your BIL much. AL moved to a new building out by Memorial City almost 3 years ago.

This very much so, our company does extensive work with them and have for years and we have never seen a sales rep ever. And their 24 dispatch is ran by what I suspect is individuals on the bad end of the spectrum.
