LINK

To be clear, it's been stripped down to it bones and is only for display, but it's interesting that the whole fleet is apparently coming off line and is set for destruction in the next decade (per webpage).

You typically don't do this unless there's already something out there replacing it - I wonder what sort of cool toys the Air Force is playing with these days?

Only $42 mil? Everyone on the OT about to be flying one. Perfect stealth device for catching Jody.

42m is the original price. Do not see the current add to cart price.

Might throw this on the AMEX Black. I could use something with less performance than my current ride.

TR-3BAW

It’s crazy that Skunkworks was already flying these in the 70’s.

Feels like it’s about time for a new rollout with all the Space Force talk.

There was a Saint's player that had a T33 jet trainer back in the 70's.

Iran will probably buy them, do a half-assed restoration then photoshop them into pictures.

I wonder if they will let me trade my Cessna for it?

I don't understand destroying them. I know there is a lot of maintenance required to keep them but it seems like if times ever got really desperate they could be used. I'd lock them up in a warehouse in the desert somewhere.

Of course, if it was me, we'd still have a fleet of mothballed B-17s somewhere.

Damn, I didn’t realize it was so small, always thought it was like a bigger bomber

ETA, looks like I was thinking of the B-2, which this seems to be a little brother of

It's only 40-50 year old tech. Even the B2 is up in age at over 20 years old being in service since '97. The F22 is fairly old as that is basically 80's tech. We are already working on the new stuff that will replace the new stuff coming out in the next decade.

Warfare is dramatically changing. Drones are the new thing...I'd have to imagine we already have a rail gun or two deployed on a cruiser somewhere.
