Suffered from it for years, ambien and Knolopin work wonders, as far as otc sleep medication goes, try unisom tabs, not the gels, the gels are Diphenhydramine which is Benadryl.

I hope you were able to get some sleep.Driving when you are sleep deprived can be very dangerous. My BIL got into a nearly fatal wreck while driving after working all night long.

I am an extreme insomniac. I have Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome DSPS) LINK

People with DSPS have a natural inclination to go to bed later and wake up later than what is typically considered normal.

People with delayed sleep phase generally go to bed in the early morning hours, from 1 am to 4 am, and wake up later in the morning, from 8 am to 11 am.

People who are considered ‘night owls’, who feel more awake or alert during the evening/night, have a higher rate of having or getting this disorder.

There are often nights when I don't go to sleep at all. I might lay in bed for hours, not fall asleep and finally give up and get up for the day.

That is awful. I feel for you. My problem is being tired and ready to sleep at 8:00 pm. Not sure why.

That's a great euphemism for being lazy.

That's not insomnia.

And I am pretty sure that many people here say they do, but none are medically diagnosed.

For this reason I hate when women say they are insomniacs. No. You just sleep all day then do nothing when you wake up, so you go to sleep later.

Yes, my current bedtime cocktail is Xanax, Unisom(doxylamine succinate), and melatonin. Knocks me out with the quickness.

There are different kinds of insomnia. Early morning waking is one of them and has nothing to do with sleeping during the day. I'm bipolar and have the kind of insomnia where I can actually go 48 hours without being able to sleep even 5 minutes

My sleep is better right now to where it was mostly trouble falling asleep, for which I found young living sleepessence pills to be most effective. Seriously. They aren't cheap though

But I ran out of them a few days ago and am down to just waking up between 2:30 and 4:00. I tried this sugar salt trick my aunt told me about and it really works. I know it sounds hokey but just try it LINK (I use regular sugar mixed with pink Himalayan salt). Supposedly there is some science behind it

Jesus fricking christ dude, eating Xanax everyday is horrible for you.

I use to have really bad problems sleeping. Tried all kinds of things. Cleaned up my diet and changed my workout routine around a little bit and my sleep issues went away almost instantly. If I go off the rails and eat a bunch of pizza or drink a bunch of beer my sleep gets all messed up.

Have you tried a little one hitter of weed in stead of the goddamn benzos? Benzo withdrawal can be fatal.
