Mortuary Affairs Specialist. Considering this for when I get the process rolling. Would be an honor to serve my nation by handling the remains of the fallen. If anyone has any experience with this or any anecdotes to share, it would be great.

Is that a Ft Sam job? If so, you're gonna have a good time.

I think it is at ft. Sam.
I was over there but I was a 68w I had to go through camp bullis twice during late spring early summer

I've only seen and interacted with one and that was in theater (Afghanistan deployment) she was a real professional.

Anything in particular that stands out? Was she traumatized by what she saw in any way?

Only if you can get airborne mortuary affairs.

Nah she didn't appear to be but I'm sure she was to some degree. Nothing out the ordinary and just doing what an nco is supposed to be doing

Sorry I can't be of more help
It's just one of those professions I'm sure that some people prefer not to talk about.
I'm going to assume that if you do this when you aren't on deployment that all your dress uniforms need to be top notch. I know mine was when I was a part of a ceremonial honors team for funeral ceremonies.

As you enter what promises to be a long and illustrious career as a 92M, you will find that 11B's shite on whomever they choose - including themselves.
Good luck.

What has you thinking about 92M as opposed to the many other fields in the Army?

I'm not keyed in on it. Just aware of it and looking for some first-hand info. I'm not set on making a career out of whatever I do at this point but I'm looking for a fulfilling way to serve.

I don't think that I've ever met a 92M, it is a very specialized field....
other than Dover AFB, not sure where any are stationed in more than 1's and 2's...
