Yea my good friend graduated LSU PE in May 98. 3 yrs with ConocoPhillips in Houston when he got the offer. The package was unreal from salary to mortgage assistance and bonuses.
He lived in Anchorage and worked week on week off traveling in via chartered jet. Needless to say. 20 yrs later he's by far my most wealthy friend who made it without daddy handing over a company or something.
TLDR frickin Do it.

Live in Palmer, it's less than an hour drive to the Anchorage airport. It's much less expensive. Neat town.
