We just left Branson and sit through one of these presentations ( I know I'm OT poor) to get some free tickets too some free shows/attractions. Anyway they want you too pay like 9k and you get too stay at their resorts around the world for like $100 a night plus discounted air flights, car rentals etc. ...their name was Summer Wind Resorts... Seemed a little sketchy.. Anyone ever tried them or any others ?

95% are scams or frick you out of money at a minimum. Disney Vacation Club is the only one I've ever considered legit.

No.. No.. No. Think about this. You pay them $9000 and can stay anywhere for $100 a night.. How many times will you actually go to their resort? How much are the rooms if you don't have a timeshare? You do not come out ahead at all. Its a profit maker for sure, but frick no.. Stay away from that.

We have discussed this, but my in laws do. I have been to some awesome places. You have to view them as a way to army at in high end places at a discount, not as an investment. If you plan on traveling as a hobby, they are great.

I have a friend who bought this. He has two girls (both under the age of 10), I think you can go there for like 4 times a year. The first two years I think they went 3 times, then the past few years it was once or twice. Any company trying to generate more income isn't creating any type of package that benefits its customers.

You must not have got a guy named Louie. I used to frequent a bar in Branson and he was supposedly the GOAT timeshare salesman. He was a damn good pool shark too haha

Again, be realistic with yourself and ask yourself how many times will you actually go?

you're going to somehow end up on the ISIS hitlist for not purchasing a timeshare now.

Well if you don't purchase a timeshare you will, but if you end up buying it then those tickets cost a lot more than you think.

put it in a spreadsheet.

Average flight to an exotic location for 2 people (plus baggage, transportation, etc.)

average non-peak rate for rooms at said location

Now, throw in the 9,000 joining fee and ALL monthly subscription fees (This is a killer) and see how long it takes to BREAK EVEN on the timeshare. Your mind will be blown.

I know a few people who have sold timeshares the majority of their lives, and they are millionaires. It is one of the better rackets out there if you don't mind selling your soul to the devil. Complete scam.
