Went to one near Sisal in the Yucatan in 1972. It was a small ring, just a few hundred people. It was very hot and brutal, I considered it a waste of an afternoon.

Nope. Would not go.

Saw one while in Mexico on Mexican regional espn. It didn’t show everything but showed much more than we ever see here.

I had no idea that the bull is weakened first by guys on horseback. They ram a serrated spear into their chest a remove it. Seems this is done a time or two before the bull meets bullfighter. I always thought it was just a dude and a cape and swords vs a fresh bull.

Went from what I thought was distasteful but tough, to a bitch move.

We will have to agree to disagree. I thought of Commidus (sp?) in the end of gladiator.

Went to one here 5 or 6 years ago. Glad I went but wouldn’t go again. We were lucky to have a local explain to us what exactly was going on during the fight. He made it seem almost like a play.

Read Hemingway's Death in the Afternoon. Good explanation of the bull fight. And the best are in Spain.
