In elementary school a bully used to spit in my face almost every day.
A couple years later after I hit a growth spurt I beat the crap out of a bigger kid who was bullying a pal.
Like the previous poster there was hell to pay at the principal's office but I learned that a reputation for not backing down is worth gold.
To this day I go ballistic whenever I see anyone spit on someone else.

I was bullied because in middle school and high school I was placed in advanced classes so I was in classes with older kids a lot.
You just had to never let them get to you.
In 10th grade this senior always gave me shite. One day I told him after class to leave me alone and we went outside and took care of business. I never had trouble in school after that.
At home, I was picked on by other kids bc my family was new money and I was a "dirty half-breed".

Yes, and eventually put an end to it when i finally stood up for myself. Whooped his tail and he nor anyone else ever messed with me again. Amazing how that works.
Here recently a kid i coached in baseball was being picked on by a bully. Name calling, slapping around, insulting and demeaning comments. His mom told me what was going on and i told her the only way it would stop was for him to jump on the bully and to not stomp punching until someone pulled him off. Next time i saw her she told me her son and followed my advice. The kid doesn’t mess with him anymore.
Sometimes you gotta nut up. The video kid is gonna have to too!

I went to a small, all white school. Had pretty much no bullying

Hopefully the Vol and Titan players going to visit the kid on Tuesday tell him that.

That video pretty much hurt my heart. No child deserves to be that heartbroken and confused.

I went to a small, mostly white school too. We had I think four black guys, and they never bullied anyone. Really nice dudes.

This was me in high school...If I ever catch my son doing any bullying he will regret it. The girls were way worse at my school than guys.
I can count on one hand the times I've mistreated people in my life. Once I yelled at a guy when he walked outside and interrupted me and a buddy trying to talk a chick into showing some boobs...and yes I was hammered. I apologized the next day. The rest of my crappy episodes involved booze and crude passes at the ladies in my college days or the year or two afterwards.

Went to a snotty all white private school when my dad was alive and an almost all white public school after he died.
shite tons of bullies at both. Public school bullies were way tougher though.

Yeah it sucks. This won’t be popular round these parts, but it was mostly by the black kids at my school. (Public school)
The school has few problems generally.

I wasn't really bullied, but there was a kid in 8th grade who everyone was afraid of, he was considered a bad arse. He tried to break in front of me in the lunch line and we got into a shoving match. After he threw a punch at me, I threw one back at him that hit him square in the mouth and knocked out his two front teeth. I saw him a few years ago and he said that he still misses his front teeth.

I was bullied a bit in middle school, 6th grade I think, by a few white trash dudes and some prissy mean girls that saw a vulnerable target in a scrawny kid with a disability.
Needless to say, it completely stunted my social development for high school and I didn't start making real and meaningful friendships until college.
I think what really hurt and set this up was my childhood friends moving away and it just left me scared and vulnerable.
My experience is why if I ever find out my kids get anything so much as a credible accusation of bullying with decent evidence, I will lay the goddamn war hammer down on them it might as well be Thor's hammer.

I was more of a bully in school. Kids can be terrible to each other. I still feel kinda bad about stuff we used to say and do.

I wasn't bullied but I had an older brother and his friends if I ever needed some back up. I normally took care of myself. It was pretty common to have fights in junior high and elementary school. It was never that big of a deal and it led to us getting alone later in school. Most fights in high school were black kids fighting each other.
My best friend in elementary school had a speech problem. He was picked on until we started kicking arse. I don't know why he ever took it to begin with because he could really fight.
My middle daughter was coming home crying about a girl at school bullying her. We talked to the school several times about it and nothing was done. I finally told her do not come home again crying. If the girl bullies her walk up to her and hit her as hard as she can in the nose. We tried to warn the school again and they did nothing. The girl got in my daughters face and she did exactly what I told her to do. She busted the bully's nose in the lunch room in front of everyone. She never had another problem the rest of her school years.
Another story about my best friend in high school and beyond. He had a temper like you wouldn't believe. Even his older brother would get scared of him. He was maybe 5'6" 120lbs in the 9th grade. One of the seniors kept bullying him, his brother told him he better leave him alone but that didn't stop it. One day my friend had enough, he picked up a board outside the AG building and broke it over the back of the senior bullying him. As you might imagine no one ever messed him again.
I know fighting isn't for everyone but the fastest way to stop a bully is to punch them in mouth. I tell my kids that if they are doing the bullying I will whip their arse but I will be 100% behind them if they are defending themselves from one.

Not in school but I had to prove myself to the neighborhood since I hung out with older kids.

I was in both sides. I was bullied and my mom put me in boxing and martial arts. Later on she was called in because the bully was now getting bullied by me apparently. Don’t really remember that.
Come high school I was on both side of the issue. I remember feeling like a punk once for bullying a freshman as a junior. Never did that again.

Not that I can remember. The coaches in the school I went to were pretty big fellas and they didn't put up with crap like that. That was when schools allowed paddling and you sure didn't want your arse lit up by one of them.

Luckily I was never really bullied. I was one of the smaller kids but I kept good company and we always had each other’s back.
I’d like to think I’d never physically harm a child. But if my child came home like that, damn it would be hard to not beat those little shits.
Is it acceptable to ask their parents to show up at sonic?
